A former Marine accused of killing pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach of Vandalia pleaded not guilty Monday, June 8, in a Jacksonville, N.C., courtroom to first-degree murder. March 15, 2010, was set as the tentative date for trial.

Cesar Laurean also pleaded not guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon, financial transaction card theft, attempted misdemeanor financial transaction card fraud and obtaining property by false pretenses. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
