When school levies fail, the requests don't just die. Generally, school boards come back again, maybe asking for less or after having made changes that vocal voters wanted.

In this context, Dayton Board of Education President Yvonne Isaacs can't be faulted for saying this week that, in all likelihood, there will be a new levy request next fall. Give her credit for candor, a trait not all school board members have.
