Summary
Indian Lake: Anglers have been pulling in catfish all over the lake. Almost any bait will do, from nightcrawlers to liver, cut shad or shrimp. Bluegills have been taking waxworms around docks and crappies have been biting on minnows around the lily pads in the old game reserve. With muddy water in most parts of the lake, saugeye and bass fishing have been slow. For saugeyes, try fishing in front of the Moose Lodge or the island in front of it. Also work the area around Dream Bridge. Trolling with Shad-Raps, Husky Jerks and Vib- E's has been the most effective method. You can still enter the Indian Lake Catfish Tournament, held July 31-Aug. 3. For info, visit Gene's Marine near the spillway or go online at indianlake.com/ catfish.
C.J. Brown Reservoir: Most of the walleyes being caught are coming from the area around the humps and old road bed. Troll with mediumdiving crankbaits or jig with nightcrawlers and leeches. Crappies are still biting around the marina and crappies and bluegills are being caught at the fish attractors near the ramp. For catfish, use traditional baits and fish the north end of the lake.See the full content of this document
