If you take a look at these pages daily, you almost certainly remember a piece by Molly Ivins from Monday. In the infinite, foreboding sea of formulaic commentary that, for some reason, materializes every week, it stood out. Passionate even as Ivins' pieces go, it was destined to get talked about in political circles. Sen. Hillary Clinton is used to being bashed, but not like this.

"I will not support Hillary Clinton for president," Ivins said. "Enough. Enough triangulation, calculation and equivocation. Enough clever straddling, enough not offending anyone. Sen. Clinton is apparently incapable of taking a clear stand on the war in Iraq, and that alone is enough to disqualify her. Her failure to speak out on Terri Schiavo, not to mention that gross pandering on flag-burning, are just contemptible little dodges."
