Landing a coveted spot on WTUE-FM's annual "Homegrown" compilation albums in the early 1980s was like winning a Grammy for local bands. For musicians Kenny Collins (guitar), Tommy Long (bass) and John Loy (drums), the radio station-sponsored albums helped transform their group Quickfoot from a home-based project with friends into a viable live act, not once but twice.
