SPRINGBORO -- Two special criminal investigators would be hired with more than $450,000 in federal grant monies to be sought by local police.

On Thursday, April 2, Springboro City Council authorized Police Chief Jeff Kruithoff to apply to the U.S. Department of Justice for a COPS Hiring Recovery Program grant for officers to be assigned to the Warren County Drug Task Force and the Tactical Crime Suppression Unit overseen by the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.
