Chick Ludwig, Hal McCoy and Greg Simms are retiring from the DDN sports department -- the reception here at the paper in their honor is Wednesday, Sept. 30 -- but here's hoping they'll still be involved in some capacity.
- I was a junior at Wright State when I applied for a stringer position at the DDN. Chick, working at his desk as I was being interviewed, pulled out a copy of a men's basketball tournament preview I put together for WSU's student paper.
