The Department of Defense has a long way to go in its multibillion-dollar effort to develop detailed information technology plans for improving computer networks used to manage key programs including weapons systems and supply chains, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said.

The Air Force has made substantially more progress in developing these enterprise architecture programs than the Navy or the Army, said the GAO, which performs investigative and auditing functions for Congress.
