Summary


Sports fans probably remember Steve Downing as the 6-foot-8 Big Ten most valuable player at Indiana in 1973 (yes, he played for Bob Knight) or as a reserve on the 1974 NBA Champion Boston Celtics.

What he has done most of his life, however, is work in college athletic administration, first at Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis, then at Indiana and now at Texas Tech, where he is senior associate director of athletics.
