DAYTON -- Leadership of the Dayton branch of the NAACP didn't get discouraged Saturday when nary a citizen attended the organization's first Constituent Day to discuss challenges facing blacks in the community. They did get fired up.

"We need to get off our couches. We need to get out of the stands, out of the bleachers and into the game," said Derrick L. Foward, president of the Dayton branch. "We are all one people who need to come together."
