OREGON DISTRICT HISTORY REVIEWED
Oregon Stories, a documentary fi lm chronicling the history of Dayton's Oregon Historic District, will premiere Sunday at the Neon Movies, 130 E. Fifth St., Dayton. The 45-minute fi lm was produced by John Bognar and John Mays . Oregon Stories follows the district from its beginnings in the 1820s as the city's fi rst platted neighborhood through the eventual blight in the 1950s and 1960s. The fi lm focuses on the period of renewal in the 1970s, when urban pioneers saved one of Dayton's more unique neighborhoods. Mays was an associate producer on the award-winning independent fi lm Blue Car. His production credits also include A Lion in the House, The Dream Catcher and The Manson Family. Bognar is the brother of Yellow Springs fi lmmaker Steven Bognar. Oregon Stories will be screened at 3:15 and 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.
