Film Festival to Play 'Were the World Mine'

The 2008 Downtown Dayton LGBT Film Festival has announced its dates and opening night fi lm. This year's event, Sept. 26-28 at the Neon theater in Dayton, will open with "Were the World Mine." Based on the short fi lm "Fairies" that played at the 2006 festival, "Were the World Mine" is a musical rethinking of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." DIVE INTO FAMILY MOVIES AT THE BEACH WATERPARK The Beach Waterpark in Mason presents "Dive In Movies" on Saturdays through Aug. 9 in the Kahuna Beach Wavepool. Dive In Movies allow viewers to watch family fi lms from inner-tubes in the Wavepool or from adjacent lounge chairs. The fi lm schedule includes "The Water Horse" (Saturday, June 28); "Shrek the Third" (July 5); "Hairspray" (July 12); "Enchanted" (July 19); "Meet the Robinsons" (July 26); "High School Musical 2" (Aug. 2); "Bee Movie" (Aug. 9). Activities start at 8:30 p.m. in the Wavepool, followed by the movie around 9:15 p.m., when the sun sets. An after-4 p.m. discount ticket is $10.
