SARASOTA, Fla. -- There is no question Homer Bailey is on the fast track to the Cincinnati Reds' rotation, but even though the club can use all the starting pitching it can muster, two years in the low minors isn't enough professional exposure.

Bailey is only 19 and the team's No. 1 draft pick in 2004. He has grabbed attention from people like former Reds pitching great Mario Soto, and not just because of the multi-colored cowboy boots the long, tall Texan wears to the complex each morning.
