Re "Vectren proposal met with disdain," March 28: It is difficult to believe that Vectren thinks its customers do not know how to conserve energy.

I am fortunate to have had a new furnace, water heater, extra insulation in the attic, storm doors and windows installed in the past few years. I pull the drapes every night to keep the cold out and run ceiling fans slowly to circulate the heat. Now Vectren wants to tell me how to save energy, and, on top of that, it wants to charge me for that valuable information.
