Group to Help Eligible Get Medicare Subsidy ; Tuesday's Session in Englewood Will Explain How to Sign Up for No- Deductible Drug Coverage.

Summary

Millions of Americans who couldn't otherwise afford Medicare drug coverage are getting it without paying premiums or deductibles, but another 3.25 million aren't taking advantage of the low-income subsidy that makes it possible. The Access to Benefits Coalition will help some of them Tuesday in Englewood at the Earl Heck Community Center, 201 N. Main St., from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

People with low income and assets can apply and receive the subsidy year-round, but not if they don't have Medicare Part D coverage for prescription drugs. The deadline for enrolling in 2007 Part D plans is Dec. 31.
