"Picking a favorite among the drummers I've played with over the years isn't easy, but Jim Rupp has to be at the top of my list," says pianist and jazz educator Eric Zadan.

Zadan, founder of the Jazz Arts Studio in downtown Dayton, has presented his quartet to packed houses at Gilly's over the last year and a half. He returns to the club Friday with guitarist Lee Dynes, bassist Lars Miller and his drummer of choice.
