LANIER TWP., Preble County -- The family of Clayton Helriggle received a little more than $500,000 in a settlement from Preble County in lieu of proceeding with a civil lawsuit in federal court that alleged he died wrongfully four years ago during a drug raid gone awry.

Although the case is technically closed, the settlement has brought anything but closure to his parents, Michael and Sharon; his brother, Harley; and his aunt, Sue Cummings.
