COLUMBUS -- The version of the state budget expected to be approved today in the House includes $2 million for a Montgomery County program that has helped cut the county's high school dropout rate from 25.2 percent in 2000 to 13.3 percent in 2005.

Montgomery County Administrator Deborah Feldman, chairwoman of the committee that oversees the Fast Forward Center, called news about the $2 million "fantastic." Sinclair Community College manages the center, which serves teens and young adults 15 to 21 years old who have dropped out of school.
