DAYTON -- If Ohio wins Race to the Top funding, Dayton Public Schools could receive $6.4 million spread over four years.

"That's the potential of what we could receive. Our final award would be based on the plan we construct in this district within the guidelines," Jane McGee-Rafal, the district's chief academic officer, said after Tuesday's announcement that Ohio is one of 19 finalists in the school reform grant competition.
