DAYTON -- The Access Center for Independent Living on Wednesday celebrated the 16th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

During the five-hour event at the Access Center, 35 S. Jefferson St., some local businesses were honored with the Spirit of ADA Award "for their barrierfree facilities, attitudinal acceptance of people with disabilities and for ensuring opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy the same rights, freedoms and liberties as all other citizens of Dayton."
