Deal Gives Dhl Access to More Asian Air Cargo

DHL, seeking to get a bigger share of the growing air cargo delivery business between Asia and the United States, said it has completed a deal for a business partnership with Polar Air Cargo Worldwide Inc., including investing $150 million in that company.

In return for the investment, DHL will receive a 49 percent ownership stake and 25 percent of voting rights in Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, DHL said on Thursday. The agreement guarantees DHL access to Polar Air Cargo's aircraft capacity in key global markets for 20 years, with a revenue potential of $3.5 billion for Polar Air Cargo over that time, DHL said.
