WEST MILTON -- Al Daum was the well-known leader of the chain gang at Milton-Union High School's Memorial Stadium for 49 consecutive autumns of interscholastic football, until Parkinson's disease slowed him down (in 2007) at the age of 76.

Accordingly, Daum was elected to M-U Education Foundation's Hall of Honor for academic and community service with a plaque awarded at halftime of the Bellbrook football game that fall.
