It's been little more than two years since state-mandated curbside recycling was phased in for Warren County single-family residences. And in that short period of time, the total tonnage of recycled material in the county has doubled.
In 2004, prior to mandated curbside recycling, Warren Countians recycled about 4,600 tons of materials. In 2005, when curbside recycling was being phased in, residents recycled almost 6,000 tons of materials. But by 2006, the first full year all singlefamily households in the county were on board with the mandate, people recycled almost 9,500 tons of materials by filling their curbside containers and putting them out for collection each week, according to statistics provided by the Warren County Solid Waste Management District.See the full content of this document
