DAYTON -- The first idea to honor the late Lou Cox was a scholarship named in his memory. The ultimate tribute, however, turned out to be a better fit for the man who inspired so many people to improve their fitness.

The Lou Cox Memorial 5K Run/Walk, now in its 22nd year, is expected to draw approximately 1,000 participants at 9 a.m. Memorial Day, May 25, starting at Welcome Stadium.
