TIPP CITY -- The city council tabled a controversial proposal to reduce the 100 percent city income tax credit for people working out of town to allow more time to explore possible alternatives.
Mayor Tim Evans said city staff will be asked to suggest areas for more cuts in spending while options are explored during the next month, including at the annual capital improvements program review in late October. The council will revisit the tax credit reduction on Nov. 2. The proposal was designed to raise money to address deteriorating streets after two proposed income tax increases were defeated in 2007 and 2008.See the full content of this document
