BROOKVILLE -- During his nearly three years in the U.S. Army, Lewis Thomas learned a lot about life, and now he's passing those lessons along to young people.

Several times in the past five years the 81-year-old World War II veteran has taken his war memories and mementos into Miami Valley schools. His next appearance is Tuesday at Brookville Middle School, and he knows what he's going to do and say.
