Summary
In early 1804 and late 1805, most of the members of a Kentucky congregation, a branch of the Presbyterian Church known as Seceders, relocated to Ohio. A strong distaste for slavery led to the move.
In 1803, the congregation had sent a delegation to the free state of Ohio to look at land. They camped near Old Town in Greene County and were pleased with what they saw. Individual members bought land along Massie's Creek and Sugar Creek.See the full content of this document
