Summary
I am very proud that Huber Heights City Schools nutrition services department has been providing lunches in the summer to children in Huber Heights since 1994. The program is administered through the Ohio Department of Education, Office for School Nutrition and federal reimbursement dollars are received by the district. The district actively pursues the summer feeding application out of concern that there are children in need of a nutritious meal during the summer.
Each summer, approximately 175 children per day are served lunch at three different locations in the community. Lunch is available at no cost to children ages 1 to 18 years old. Individual's ages 19-21 that have been identified as having a mental or physical disability and are following an Individualized Education Program in their current educational program also are eligible. Adults may pay for a lunch for $2.50.See the full content of this document
