One year of a dog's life, it's said, is the equivalent of seven human years. According to Germantown-based blues-man Michael Locke, you can do similar math to determine the wear-and-tear that traveling and late night gigs have on a musician's life expectancy.

"This is the 100th birthday celebration tour," said Locke, who kicked off a Southern tour in Hollywood, Fla., two weeks ago. "I turned 49 earlier this month, and with musician's lives we may not make 50, so I'm just going right to 100. I've been hosting the weekly Oregon Express jam now for six years straight this September. Just that alone will age you 20 years."
