DAYTON -- When people are asked to pay $5 as they enter the 2011 Cityfolk Festival on July 1-3, organizers say it's critical for the survival of the event that they do so.

"We have to do well at this," Cityfolk board President Jerry Brunswick said of charging for what has been a free event for 14 years. "We're in perilous financial condition. We absolutely need to get at least $5 a day from every adult who attends."
