New Deal Could Open Dunbar House by June ; Ohio Historical Society Will Maintain Facility

DAYTON -- Dayton History plans to reopen Dunbar House with year- round touring, more programming and more access for school groups once it reaches an agreement with state officials to take over operation of the site, Brady Kress, Dayton History executive director, said Tuesday, April 7. Kress spoke to reporters following a public hearing at the historic house, 219 Dunbar St., attended by 60 people who offered advice and help to keep the facility open.

State Plans I-75 Work ; $144m Project to Add a Lane in Each Direction From the Montgomery County Line to Ohio 122.

COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to spend $287 million on three projects that will reshape Interstate 75 in Montgomery and Warren counties. The money is part of $1.9 billion the department plans to spend on highway projects next year. That's "the largest investment in Ohio's transportation system in state history," the department said.

Screen Teens for Depression, Panel Urges

A government-appointed medical panel is urging pediatricians and other family doctors to routinely test teenagers for depression. The screens recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, a panel that sets guidelines for doctors on a host of health issues, can save lives, said Sarah Greenwell, a pediatric psychologist at Children's Medical Center of Dayton.
