School Texting Can Be Trouble ; Some Administrators Discourage Students and Staff From Texts About Homework or Any Other Subject.

As a board of education member, Jose Lopez was concerned when he heard some other districts' students and teachers were texting each other about homework and other topics. "I thought it was a bad idea then, and I think it's a bad idea now," said Lopez, a Troy lawyer who no longer is a board member for the Milton-Union schools in Miami County.

Neighbor's Prank Ends in Jail Sentence

PIQUA -- Lawyers are trying to get a Piqua woman out of jail after she was sentenced to 60 days for ordering magazines in a neighbor's name as part of a dispute. As of Monday, April 13, Judge Robert Lindeman hasn't ruled on suspending the rest of the sentence for Julie Rank-Earley, 47. She's been in jail since March 16.
