Crashes, Fires in the Valley ; Woman Dead; Trucker, Flagger Seriously Hurt
A deadly fire, a spectacular Interstate 75 truck crash and a serious accident involving a Dayton city worker were among a flurry of incidents occurring in the Miami Valley throughout Thursday morning. In Brookville, 90-year-old Cecil Fasnacht died in a fire about 4 a.m. Thursday, despite efforts to rescue her by her next-door neighbor and Brookville Fire Chief James Nickel.
Suspicious Bag Closes Dayton International for 2 Hours
DAYTON -- A bag believed to be suspicious forced the evacuation and shutdown of the Dayton International Airport's terminal on Thursday for more than two hours. It turned out to be a plastic bag of telephone books that someone apparently didn't want to lug on a flight, airport spokeswoman Sharon Sears said.
