City Tops in Dogfighting Clampdown ; Humane Society Says Dayton Is Leading the Way in the U.S. For Cracking Down On Dogfights.

DAYTON -- Scores of dogfighting arrests in Montgomery County recently demonstrated how the area has taken the lead nationally in fighting to end the organized blood sport, a Humane Society of the United States official said Wednesday. "Dayton has put a huge spotlight on (dogfighting) because there's been incredible law enforcement," said John Goodwin, deputy manager of animal fighting issues for the Humane Society.
