Briefly; Radcliff Middle Event to Focus On Math Prowess

JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County - Radcliff Middle School will hold a spaghetti dinner and discussion of math proficiency preparation for the schools' students and parents Thursday at 6 p.m. in the cafetorium, 120 Knox Ave. The math proficiency will be presented by Richard Gates, who earned his doctoral degree from the University of Dayton in 1998.

Dog Saved From Icy Lake

PLEASANT TWP., Clark County - The feeling of helplessness sank deep into Dawn Cromwell as she stared at Gypsy yowling for help Tuesday morning behind her house on Vernon-Asbury Road. The 40-pound dog flailed in frigid Clark Lake about 75 feet from shore. Cromwell heard the yelping about 7 and thought the dog might have gotten tangled in a trap in the woods. Then Cromwell spotted her in the lake.
